The Penny Lane Jazz Band-Sefton Park Bandstand 26th June 2011

They have been swinging along quietly for 6 months chipping away putting a set together.
This Sunday in Sefton Park we get the chance to put a few old standards together for a public performance.
After a few different musicians who have come and gone.
80 year old Charlie Walcom on base will be holding rhythm along with Peter Carfoot on guitar. Peter Higham on trumpet will be spicing up the event.
John Lister on Alto sax and myself on Clarinet hope to make it a good day out lets hope the sun shines.
Our rehearsal rooms are in the Penny Lane Community Centre, guess where, that is.
That's the recently restored building with the massive musical Memphis style gates.
It seemed the obvious choice of name really.
We will be playing music from Miles Davis, Freddie Freeloader a bit of Duke Ellington and the likes of the old standard Witchcraft along with many others.
