After The £53 Million Pounds Vase-The Treasures Of Chinese Porcelain on the BBC.

After the shock of a Chinese vase selling for 53 million pounds, yes 53 million pounds, a new series has just started on the BBC.
Considering the vase was was valued as a clever copy it is even more suprising.

“The piece was sold by a 70-year-old woman and her son and daughter. We were clearing her brother's house after he died and I looked at the vase and said: Oh, that looks nice'. It had just sat on the bookcase doing absolutely nothing.
“They told me it had been valued at just £800 two months earlier. They also told me the owner had taken it on Going For A Song on the BBC about 40 years ago. He was told it was a very clever reproduction.”
